No spelling test this week, but if they write their spelling words, they get bonus for it!

 Scholastic book order forms are due on Monday, September 24th!! Not only do your kids get great books for great prices, but it helps earn our class free books! 

Our school Literature Fair is on Tuesday, September 25. They will bring their projects and set up that morning in the gym. This will count as a test grade for the kids, which we have talked about in class.  If your child has a non-fiction book, they need to use a graphic organizer, (you can also google these) I will show an example of one on Dojo. You can also find info on the homepage under forms about the Literature fair. 

Wednesday, September 26 we will be going to Memorial Park for Agriculture Day! 
Kids will need a packed lunch for that day!

Thursday, September 27, we need your clothing fundraiser forms.  This will be the only time we will be selling clothing apparel this year other than Homecoming, so if you want school spirit clothing, get it now.
Grandparent's Day will be on Friday, September 28! Kids will be signed out after the grandparents day program.  That is not a full day of school.

Chapel is a bit different this year.  Chapel is still on Wednesday, but Secondary will do chapel from 8:00-8:45 and Elementary from 1:45-2:15.  Then, the last Wednesday of the month, everyone will have chapel together from 8:00-8:45.

 

We are having a short ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, to honor our country and the many families that lost loved ones.  You are welcome to attend if you would like.  We will meet around 8:30, and it will start shortly after outside at the flagpole.

We play plenty of review games during the week, but I will be sending info on what to study on Class DoJo.  We have really enjoyed playing games together!

Also, Bring in those Box Tops!  Everyday your child brings in Box Tops they earn tickets from me.  Tickets can buy things, give perks and can earn privileges and bonus' for quizzes and tests. 

We are starting our History Binders, this will be a test grade for the students.  I am supplying the papers, all they need to do is to keep it neat and organized.  If you have a small binder at home that they can use for their history binder, fanatatstic.  If you have page protectors you can send with them, that would be helpful as sometimes the three ring binder hole punch is easy to tear.  I think this is a fun way of teaching responsibility and it should be EASY to get a good test grade!  I'm sharing extra info and pictures with them to enrich the curriculum we already have, they have enjoyed getting the "insider scoop" and the "rest of the story."
