Hey Everyone! I hope you all have had a restful weekend.

This week we will be getting back into the groove of things, as I was out Thursday and Friday with the flu-yuck! A few students were out this week because of sickness as well, hopefully it is all behind us!

This week, we will begin reading one of the Little House books, per the request of the class!  They love her story from our History Lessons and we had the pleasure of reading a small snippet in our reading books this year. So I will be reading it to them starting Monday.

We had a fantastic week and a blast on our little field trip!!

We have no chapel this Wednesday, March 20, due to the secondary heading out for Soul Survivor.

Please bring in your box tops, they are starting up the competition again!


Also, if you have any $1.00 items to donate to our classroom store, we would appreciate it...even things like erasers (not pencil top ones, I have plenty of those) they love school supplies!

I am hoping that everyone is feeling better and has had a great long weekend! There are a few exciting things happening this week.....

No Spelling Test this week! We will be working to get everyone that was sick an opportunity to makeup the last test.

Wednesday, March 13 is Spring Picture Day.  We will also be taking our trip to the Summersville Public Library after pictures, and have a pizza lunch when we return to the school!

I will be sending home a take home Language test this week.

History Test on Thursday

Please, please be studying your times tables at home, flash cards is an awesome method.  I am finding when they are taking tests and quizzes, their mistakes are lying within the simple multiplication mistakes.  We play around the world during class some, but some days we simply do not have time.

As always, please send a note saying you read the blog for your child to earn tickets.

If you have some neat, little gifts ($1.00) that you would like to donate for the class, fantastic. I’m wanting to open a little store and shopping time for them to spend their tickets!

Snow packets are due Monday: It consisted of Math Page 225-226, Speed Drill, An open book History Test, and a Reading Comprehension quiz.

 

Book Fair will be open during the ball games on Saturday from 1:00 on.You can still order online, we are close to our sales goal!

Please be working on the "My Animal Notebooks" the final due date is March 4th! I decided to give the weekend to put any last minute touches on it.

Some students need to add more to previous sections!  This is a very large test grade!

Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday, February 18, I have plans for that evening, but I can meet from right after school, 3:00 until 4:30.  If you need a time slot to share any concerns, please let me know! If this time isn't convenient, please let me know by sending a note on Class dojo.

We will be going to the Book Fair next week.  A yellow note came home Friday with a link if you would like to shop online.  Students may bring a small stuffed animal Monday and Tuesday to shop with them.  Also, parents are welcome to come and go with our class.  Our whole class will go on Monday (9:10-9:30) and Tuesday (9:10-9:30).  Only those with money will go on Wednesday-Friday, we have the same time slot all week.  It will also be open to families on Monday-Wednesday (2:30-3:30) and Saturday (1:00-4:00)

Our school goal is $3500.00, we earned SO many free books last year for our library and each classroom was given many books as well!

Chapel has been changed to be a combined chapel every Wednesday mornings. We do this right at 8:10, all are welcome!


Thursday we will be having our Valentine Party, if your child did not bring the classroom list home, please let me know! If you want to send anything with your child, please send me a message on Dojo.


We will be moving to Spelling List 19, test on the 20th!

The school book fair will be at our school February 18-22!!!  I LOVE the Book Fair!!!

Their My Animal Notebooks, are a TEST grade for each of them.  Each week we will check their progress in class. The pictures can be from magazines, online sources, etc. They are to make this NEAT, it counts!!
